Why We Wrote Crafting The Perfect Setlist

(and why it might be exactly what you’re looking for)

When I (Skylar) was a performing artist, I believed my talent was enough.

I wrote the songs. I poured my heart into them.
And when I got on stage, I gave them everything I had.
I believed if I showed up and sang them with honesty, the music and message would do what they were supposed to do.

And I was pretty sure that was the right way to do it, too.
I didn’t want to overthink things.
I definitely didn’t want to change anything about my songs.
And honestly, I was the biggest skeptic of live performance coaching.
Especially when Jason first started working as a performance producer.

I watched him coach artists on things like movement, experiences, set flow…
And I thought,
Why would you mess with something that’s already true and good?
Shouldn’t you just let it be what it is?

But the more I watched—and really paid attention—the more I saw what was actually happening on those stages.

It wasn’t about adding more or turning it into something flashy.
It was about getting clear on the purpose behind every part of the show…
And making intentional choices that gave the songs and the message the best chance to reach people.

By the time I realized how life-changing this work was, I was done performing.
But I often think back to those years when I was out playing shows and wish I knew then what I know now.
I wish someone had told me it wasn’t about changing who I was as an artist…
It was about taking the music I believed in and crafting an experience that made it land even deeper.

That’s why we wrote Crafting The Perfect Setlist.

For the artist who believes in what they’re carrying…
But maybe hasn’t thought about how intentional planning, preparation, and strategy can take their show from good to something unforgettable.

If you’re like I was, you might think:
This is just how I am on stage.”
”These are the songs I’ve got, and I’ll just sing them the best I can.”
”And if people connect, they connect.”

I get it.
But what if there was a way to keep everything true about who you are—and make the show even more impactful?
What if the setlist wasn’t just a list of songs, but a framework that helped your message stick… long after the lights go down?

This isn’t about fixing something broken.
It’s about taking what’s already there—and bringing it to life in a new way.

Crafting The Perfect Setlist gives you a process you can trust.
One that helps you make purposeful choices without losing authenticity.
One that grows with you, whether you’re playing a short set, adding a new song, or stepping into a totally different room.

If you’ve ever wondered what it would look like to level up your live show—without losing yourself in the process—this might be the piece you didn’t know you were missing.

Crafting The Perfect Setlist isn’t about set flow or song order.
It’s about creating a show that carries your message all the way through—and leaves a lasting, genuine impact.

And if that’s what you’re after, we wrote this for you.
